friendsSo I said goodbye to one of my closest friends today. He's leaving on the trip of a lifetime and as usual, stuff like this is bittersweet. It's bitter because it'll be so hard to fill the void he's left behind and it's sweet because he's following after God. When I first met him, he was sure he was going to be a forensic specialist straight off of CSI and tomorrow he leave's for a four and a half month mission trip to be stretched emotionally and spiritually and to do something unique for the kingdom of heaven. The tears are flowing now and I guess that's ok, I know it's ok to miss him but I am so proud of him. This year has been a rough year for him and he has come out of it with a longing to follow God. WOW! He has had such a huge impact on my life, an impact I wasn't sure was possible. He's challenged me just in his actions and reactions to events that have happened this year. Well, I guess that's it for now. I love that in the kingdom of God there are never goodbyes just I'll see you later's. So bud, I'll see you later and I can't wait to hear the stories of how God has changed your life. He's an untame, dangerous and scary God who asks for bigger things than we can possibly handle on our own and then he shows us his glory when he works through us to accomplish it. God bless dude and we'll see you when you get back.
